I have had several successes with clients meeting someone from out of the locality and strongly recommend that you try and keep your options open on this if your circumstances permit.
There are many agencies, that will advertise in your local yellow pages, thus creating the impression that they are local, but in fact they are not, quite the opposite is true, they are huge organisations that have a massive budget but they will quite happily encourage you to join, only to find when it’s too late that that they have no one locally. Also you will be unlikely to ever speak to the person again who actually interviewed you!
